The Ferrari Testarossa, a car synonymous with what we love most about outlandish Italian design and engineering.
The original Testarossa, introduced in 1984, was an instant classic. Its iconic design addressed the limitations of its predecessor, the 512BB, which mainly stemmed from front-mounted water radiators. These radiators eliminated front luggage space and caused cabin heating due to hot water plumbing. To resolve this, side-mounted radiators were adopted, widening the car by almost six inches at the rear. Rather than disguising this width with styling tricks, Emmanuelle Nicosia's chosen design embraced it, featuring a full-width, squared-off rear, flat surfaces, and massive side scoops, all contributing to the Testarossa's legendary form.
The first cars in a model series are often the purest and most unadulterated versions, and the Testarossa is no exception, especially in its early 'Monospecchio' form. The name "Monospecchio," meaning "single mirror" in Italian, refers to its unique feature: a single side mirror mounted high on the driver's side door.
This MotorcarThis Testarossa Monospecchio, modelyear 1985, left the Maranello factory equipped with the desirable “Monodado” centre-lock wheels, featuring a classic Ferrari colour combination of Rosso Corsa with a tan over brown interior. First registered in 1986, it holds the distinction of being the very first Testarossa delivered to Sweden, originally purchased by one of the country's most prominent car collectors. The car remained in his collection throughout its life, driven only a handful of times, until MOTIKON acquired it in 2023, which explains its remarkably low mileage of just 3,440 kilometres. Prior to our acquisition, a major service,
was completed in 2023. Because of the low mileage, our team of experts conducted an engine-out service and mechanical overhaul in December 2024 for approximately 15,000 EUR. All components affected by time and prolonged inactivity were replaced, ensuring the car is as excellent to drive as it is to look at. We are exceptionally proud to present this extremely low-mileage, first-paint, single-owner Testarossa. The car comes complete with its original fitted luggage set, Owner’s Manual, tool roll, and the original purchase invoice from 1986. A full list of completed work, along with history, pictures, and videos, can be provided upon interest. Do not hesitate to get in touch.
