1969 Mach 1 R-Code, 428CJ
For sale is a 1969 Mach 1 R-Code (Ram Air) with the 428CJ engine.
General Info: This is a nut and bolt restoration. The car has been tore down to bare metal and rebuilt. Ever bit and piece of the car has been meticulously rebuilt or restored. Attention to detail has been of uttermost of importance. I have referred to pictures, information online and all sort of sources to make sure the restorations has been true to its originality. Extremely few parts are new. I preferred to restore or rebuild the old parts instead of buying new ones.

Drivetrain: Engine. The lovely 428CJ has been rebuilt with all new internals such as bearings. The block and head has been leveled and checked. Pistons are forged pistons and cam shaft is a mild aftermarket cam. Heads, intake, carburetor, valve covers, timing cover, water pump, fan, fan clutch, distributor, crankshaft, oil dipstick, fuel pump, oil filter holder is all original with correct date codes and part numbers. The block is a 1973 block bored to correct size. Original block comes with the car. Only thing left to do is replace seat covers, new covers comes with the car.
Rear axle it’s a 9” N-case rear axle. The rear has also gone through a thorough restoration with correct paint, bolts and surface layer. All new bearings, drum brakes restored and internals in correct color scheme.
Drive shaft has been cleaned and the paint markings from factory has emerged and preserved under a light coat of clear. The ends has the correct bare metal tone.
Transmission is a C6 that has been thoroughly cleaned and refurbished. The factory markings on top, a text written by the worker, has been preserved under a light coat of flat clear. The transmission oil dip stick pipe has been painted in correct yellow color. The dipstick is original with correct part number. The C6 transmission case is of aluminum color and the rear and of the transmission is of correct bare metal appearance.
The undercarriage is protected with a layer of body so the chassis will not be damaged by stones or other debris that can make scratches and or in other way make the chassis prone to rust. It has been sprayed with the “correct” color of slop gray which was used in the build process.
The color slop gray was also used on several parts in the engine bay and on the car plate holders. I hade the luck to be able to scan the slop gray color form the old parts and repaint accordingly.
Internally it’s all original. I have change the instrument cluster to a tach clusters (original tach cluster is extremely desirable and hard to find). Original cluster comes with the car.
There a a lot to be said about the car, but it’s in great condition. Runs great. The Instagram page show the restoration process.
