A department that started out as a skunkworks spinoff of Porsche Motorsport, specializing in making track focused versions of Porsche 911. The first car in line was the 996 that set of a long line of track focused 911 with a simple recipy. Less Weight, uprated chassi and more power, a etos that stands to this day. Today the GT3 is a car pretty extreme concept, longways from what is started out as. But what if is still not enough? what to do? Well luckley Porsche had a meeting in the early 00's and in that meeting some one raised their hand and stated that they should problery give the Turbo model a GT treatment aswell. thus, the GT2 was born.
Both 996 and 997 got the GT2 variant with the 997 getting a RS version aswell...because why not. Both cars got a reputation for beeing insanse to drive. When production ended in 2012 one would think that you could sleep easy again, The 997 GT2 RS had 620BHP to the rear wheels, Porsche surly could not top this....right? The first generation of the 991 came and went with noGT2 in sight. But then, videos began to appear of a 991 with a massive wing and wide body lapping the Nordschleife. And not long after we got a new 991 GT2 RS, forged from carbon and magnisium with tires specially made from Micelin to even stand a chance.
